My kinda Saturday.
Here’s what we bought:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Because we left all of our copies in the US and we think Madam is ready. Himself will read out loud–like he did for Himself Jr. with all seven books–because he can do the voices. We’ll all listen. I’ll probably cry at all the same spots as the first four times.
External Affairs. Dermot Bolger’s newest poems. He’s an amazing novelist, Dermot Bolger, IMO one of Ireland’s premier voices. I like his poetry and bought this for a friend at UPenn.
The Last Girl. Himself Jr is into murder mysteries (that’s my boy!) and Jane Casey writes good ones.
Philip Pullman’s Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm. Because…well, it’s the Grimms’ fairy tales. Pullman style. Cool.
